We love Bobby and Mariko!
Sarah and Magno celebrated their wedding day at the Villa at Parker. The Villa at Parker is a classic and unique wedding venue. It can host up to 200 guests for weddings and receptions. This great wedding venue is at the tip of the city which allows for a breathtaking mountain view along with a luxurious, intimate and home-like feel. As a photographer, the available light and unique backgrounds within walking distance made this location a new favorite of mine. In addition, the staff is fabulous. I highly recommend this location to bride and grooms searching for a wedding venue in the Denver or Parker area.
The space was a perfect fit for Sarah and Magno. Their meaningful wedding was filled with friends and family from all around the world. Every groomsman was from either a different state or a different country. The men proudly and respectfully represented the United States in their uniforms. The venue needed little decoration but was adorned with 1000 origami birds hand made by the maid of honor, representing good luck. The evening was topped off with an antique Rolls Royce limo to send the couple away.
This wedding sealed yet another full and successful wedding season for Selah photography. Through the year I have worked with several gifted artists and creators. I am going to start a slow clap for the Selah crew. Feel free to clap along.

Steamboat Springs Wedding Venue . Over the Edge Chalet While I’ve yet to photograph here, Over the Edge Chalet is a gorgeous new rental home perched on the champagne-powder slopes of Steamboat Springs. This is a great wedding venue to consider for those seeking a picturesque wedding in the high country.
The chalet recently opened its doors in 2009 with critical acclaim: Reuter’s travel website ranked it one of the top ten rental homes in North America. Even a quick browse through the property’s website will easily show how it earned this reputation with its vaulted ceilings, three heated decks, a full-sized bar, and sweeping mountain views galore. This venue would be sure to match the caliber of your special day.
The grounds are versatile and spacious enough to accommodate wedding ceremonies as well as reception dinners, and the seven bedrooms allow overnight stays for family, friends, and the honorary couple themselves. Grace
Her name is so fitting. Grace is not only a beautiful woman, but a very talented musician. It was such a privilege to photograph her. Grace was lead to Selah after draining the search engines under the keyword "Denver modern photographers." I love when google works! Atomic-Gracie, a modern violinist was classically trained and has gone awry. During the photo shoot, I was treated to a mini-concert that set the mood for her soft, modern, intriguing and unique photographs.

Katie | Michael
This wonderful couple and I met in downtown Omaha to document their engagement. The couple wanted natural and unique photographs. Katie's main request was that the images didn't look like anyone else's. I told her that it would not be a problem- doing things out of the ordinary is my specialty. This beautiful couple will exchange vows in 2012. The wedding is taking place in central Nebraska. Be sure to check back for their wedding photographs. I love these two.
Chelsea | Grant This set of photos feature one of the most unique and one of a kind location's I have used as a backdrop for my photographs. I doubt I will ever document something similar and I bet that no one else will take their photographs at this location either. The images were taken in south central Nebraska near the area where this couple was born and currently resides.
The rustic, desolate, and antiqued location is filled with as much personality and character as the couple. The two will be exchanging vows at their Colorado Destination Wedding taking place at Ten Mile Station next Summer.
Psychedelic Alchemical Pop Rock | Rubedo

Every artist can claim themselves as "unique" and "captivating". However not all bands can live up to these claims. This band doesn't focus on pleasing their audience, but being nothing more than exactly who they are.
The creativity and expressiveness of this group of boys exceeded my expectations. They are artists with creative spirits down to the core of their being. I loved every part of this time of exploration.
Rubedo is a must see and a must hear. To top it off, the quips and jokes out of their mouths are almost as entertaining as the riffs and rhythms out of their hands.

The opportunity to take and edit these post wedding photographs gave me great joy. My day was immediately brightened after I opened these images in Adobe Lightroom. This couple radiates with a pure and thankful love. I am so glad that I was able to partake in documenting these memories. Their gentle and vibrant personalities radiate through the photographs.
The post wedding images were taken at Red Rocks and along the road to Mount Evans while the Aspen trees put on their glorious Fall colors. The images were lit with my trusty Elinchrom Ranger Pack that proved to be incredibly useful during travel and when the couple needed a hint of extra light to enhance the environment.

As a photographer, the best photographic results occur when I have the bride and groom's complete trust. It helps having a stunning couple that is full of personality but at the same time completely free, allowing for such strong and unique imagery. When chatting with Mariko prior to her wedding, I asked her what their ideal wedding photographs would look like. She proceeded to tell me that she wanted me to do my thing and knew that it is what she would want. This set of creative and photojournalistic wedding images are some of our best work to date and we, without a doubt, have Mariko and Bobby to thank for that. A big thanks to Mariko and Bobby for their support along with allowing Brian and I to be a part of this day with you. And to the wedding party...we loved you all too. Bobby | Mariko At one point during Bobby and Mariko's wedding day that took place in the Rocky Mountains at Beottcher Mansion, I told the guys to do whatever they would like and I would photograph it. This feature on Bobby's groomsmen highlights their most creative ideas.
Here's to the groomsmen: planking, handstands, chest bumps, push ups, pyramids, funny groomsmen poses and a lot of pure ridiculousness.
The Southglenn Whole Foods features work from Colorado artists in their store. Thanks to Flora, one of my shows was recently hung along the store walls. All of the prints are available for purchase.
Stephanie | Wayne Yet another couple who swears they aren't photogenic. Stephanie, Wayne, and I met last week at Washington Park to document their engagement.

I fell in love with the Holga | Round III There is something about getting a role of this film developed that always impacts me―something about the the way I am required to trust that the end result will be unexpectedly beautiful. I can't predict or control the harvest, but I know my camera and understand that there is a capricious beauty which results from experimenting, openness and trust. I don't have the slightest clue what will result in the images, but I think that makes them all the better.
I want my faith to be more like this. In the days where control and vast knowledge are at our finger tips, it's far more simple and safe to take a photo and immediately react to the image. Yet, many of the moments of magnificence materialize when we walk and trust―trust that there will be winsomeness despite the desire to gratify immediately. This is an allure that we would never have been able to construct on our own terms.
On a completely different note, I think the guys that develop my film secretly hate it when I come in. They tell me, "These dark and over-layed negatives are a beast to develop."
These photographs were gently rendered using my new favorite toy, Alien Skin Exposure. The action set is amazing.
The painting-like photographic images were taken in a southern Colorado Rocky Mountain range and within blocks of Selah's studio in the Sante Fe Art District of Denver.

I'm not sure how to more appropriately introduce this set of images aside from saying, "I love them." This wonderful couple visited my studio on Santa Fe during a First Friday Art Walk in Denver. After looking at one of my fine art couple's portraits, they talked about purchasing the item. Then they realized, "Wouldn't it be great if the portrait was of us?" Last week we met downtown to create unique wall art. These modern, custom, art pieces are my favorite aspect of photographing couples. These images become wonderful gifts and heirlooms to pass through generations. A session like this is a great fit for anniversaries or a special gift for an art lover. Geoff | Emily I have been so excited to post these photojournalistic wedding images! Geoff and Emily exchanged vows in downtown Denver at the Oxford Hotel in a meaningful and elegant celebration that beautifully wed two kind and loving individuals.
Ben and I were so grateful to be the photographers for this wedding. The couple's beautiful smiles and joyful spirits made the day so enjoyable and allowed us to document cherished memories.

I typically explain to couples that the more they express themselves during their engagement session, the better and more genuine the images will turn out.
This set of engagement photographs are a great example of that. There is a level of feeling and trueness that is experienced purely because of the couple's willingness to share their connection and personality.
The beautiful natural lighting in these images match Sarah and Magno's natural and beautiful character. Their unique engagement photographs taken in downtown Denver turned out to be stunning.

Louise | Jordan
Of all the different venues I have photographed, I have to say the zoo will likely always top my "most unique" list. Every image I place on Selah's wedding photography blog receives a text tag describing the image. This may be the only time in my life that I get to tag "bride and groom looking at seal" and "wedding party watching lions." Jordan and Louise's wedding held at the Denver Zoo encompassed the entire zoo experience including mini hot dogs, a lion show, cotton candy, and private zoo tours. This truly was an entertaining event between an incredibly close group of friends and family. We are so glad that we could be a part of it.

SELAH (say - la) a Hebrew word found in the Bible meaning to pause, listen and take things in. It's purpose is similar to that of Amen in (Hebrew: "so be it") in that it stresses the truth and importance of the preceding passage. Alternatively, Selah may mean "forever," as it does in some places in the liturgy.
