Creative Wedding Photojournalism

Creative Wedding Photojournalism Jordan and Brian Hanson exchanged vows on a warm Omaha afternoon. Proceeding the ceremony, we literally ran around with the wedding party at Conagra. I have never photographed at that location, but it is a hot spot for weddings. Though we ran in to several other wedding parties while photographing downtown Omaha, we were definitely the only group playing football. Whitney and I were thoroughly impressed by the agility of the bridal party in their heels.

I've never been so interested in breaking the law as I was when we walked in to Harrah's for the reception. We promised the guards that we wouldn't take photos in the Casino, but trust me I was still tempted. Despite not being able to photograph in the Casino we still go some unique images off the balcony overlooking the border of Iowa and Nebraska.

Jordan and Brian, you both are wonderful.  We are so thankful to have been a part of your day.

Contemporary wedding photography

Looking for unique wedding photography? Sometimes different than the smiling photo in front of a church alter? Contemporary Wedding photographs are something the modern couples seeks out. With the availability of quality digital cameras, there are many photographers and photo enthusiast you can find who know how to press the shutter. However,  a contemporary wedding photographer is able to make a photo unlike any of your peers. Whether it's an artistic wedding photo or real, story-telling photography. It mixes authentic wedding photography with a photographers unique and high level of skill.

Mariel and Landon's story is a great example of this style of wedding photography. Their an Austin couple who was seeking unique, authentic photographs.

I'm not sure what the temperature was in Texas last weekend, but lets just say it was 120 degrees outside to enhance the drama. Regardless of the exact temperature, the wedding party an I were about ready to pass out after spending 45 minutes at Mount Bonnell overlooking Austin. I told them that it would be worth it, and believe me it was.

To all of you kind and friendly Texans, thank you for being so welcoming and hospitable. Mariel and Landon, I thoroughly enjoyed documenting your rich story. I learned some new things about Love last weekend.

Chase and Sarah were wed on a windy day in Hastings Nebraska. I almost had to leave the wedding when I found out that Chase was from Broken Bow, which is a rival of my high school. We ended up making peace for the day and all went well. The Crawford’s reception was held in Sarah’s parents home, which provided a personal and intimate setting for all the special people in their lives. Nicole and I really enjoyed being a part of your day and are so thankful for the kindness and hospitality of you and your family. We love the photos too… and this is just the preview!

Arrowhead Wedding Photographer

A perfect March afternoon at Arrowhead Golf Course watched Jennifer and Levi as they exchanged vows last Wednesday. It was one of those weddings where I thought to myself . . . “no, this doesn’t get old”. Watching people choose to Love...and doing it the way we were made to captivates me every time. From their vows to the intimacy in their family and wedding party. The day was focused on relationship and every special part of it was highlighted. Jennifer and Levi, I am honored to have witnessed such beauty and intimacy. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.

Hudson Gardens Wedding | Matt and Lise

Hudson Gardens Wedding Photographer

Matt and Lise were wed at the Hudson Gardens on a wonderful Denver afternoon. It was full of sun and had just enough cloud cover that provide a glowing light to match the day’s energy. There were so many genuine details and purposeful moments. Nothing was quite as stunning as the way your light captivated each other. Beyond the photos, I captured a strong mental image of the way your love looked. I am so thankful for the experience. fun photo of grandpa dancing
